adding inaccuracy to ranged units.

Its pretty clear that cat's are a bit overpowered right now, and there is very little strategy to battle. Just load up on cats, make your troops wait, and go to town- if all goes well you won't even lose a single unit. One thing that has stood out at me is that even from the very edge of a cat's or archers range, you get the maximum amount of damage. I think it would add some balance if at that max range you only did some percentage of your max damage, until you reach a "kill zone" range where you can actually hit with your max damage.

Doing something like this would have an added benefit of making it a lot more likely that you will have some losses in a battle. Right now, if you play carefully, its fairly easy to never lose a single unit.

I still agree.. As it stands, this game has minimal strategy for attacking. Its one of the few downsides to an otherwise well constructed and thought out game. Although it may make things harder.. I believe something has to be done in order to make things a little more complex than they currently are.

I was refering to the actual battle itself.. Not the strategy surrounding planning an attack. In that sense, then sure, there is strategy involved. But it in itself does not compensate for the lack of strategy in an actual battle.

I completely agree. HK is a good game, but over time it is starting to lose its luster, and the battle system is the area that needs the most improvement IMHO. Hopefully 2.0 will do something to improve on this.

In particular the battles themselves need to become a bit more interesting, and something needs to be done about how vulnerable you are when you are not playing- (a lot of it doesn't even make sense- what army in their right mind is going to go on a death march from their city when they are protected by turrets/traps!)

I don't know about your Cats Digi, but mine when launched catch fire mid air, the gigantic boulder begins to seperate into massive firey mini jaggeed rocks. It's like a firestrom of terror raining upon you. Thus the massive amounts of troops it takes out...
