Hey everyone,

Upgraded to version 3.04 yesterday and reported the 'bug' with the windmill no longer turning, the fire no longer burning, the flag no longer flying and the birds no longer... flying...

Well imagine my surprise when I got this reply:

"Dear player, kindly understand that we cancel the cartoons so that the reaction of the system would be faster. It is to optimize the experience of the game on a whole. Best regards Danny."

So the animation has been removed intentionally. I understand that some people were having a few issues with Kingdom but cancelling the animation? What a cheap and nasty way to cut corners. I was using the game to show off the gorgeous graphics and smooth animation but now, it just looks cheap.

Such a shame.

Give them time and be thankful we're playing cross-platform ;-) . I'm sure things will get better as the code gets optimized over time. I play Bug Village or whatever its called and occasionally the screen goes totally dark and I haven't seen an antlion for like 7 levels. XNA is new to some programmers that are used to writing more lines in other programming languages. As they get more experienced, the code will get tighter and we'll have more fun.

Plus, if your other friends are giving you grief because their windmills move remind them that Skydrive has been out for nearly a decade and can be accessed from any device. The same can not be said for Apple's solutions no matter what the press is telling them. Play with Windows 8 and smile when you realize why MS stopped calling our phone a Windows Phone "7". :D

Haypi Kingdom is not using XNA, but Silverlight.
