Restart to get on the same sever
Anyone know if a friend downloads the app and never does task 5, can they reload the app and try to end up on a different server? He won't play unless he can be on the same server as me.

Well he had to pick your server while he was registering his account. Right now there is no current way to switch servers. They might allow you to switch in the next update.

There is no current possible way of changing servers unfortunately your friend is stuck.

He actually hasn't started yet, so all he needs to do is select my server when he starts? Is this an option on the android platform? Could you tell me how? I don't want to mess it up.

no you cant select your server when you start you are automatically placed on a server that is taking new players
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?
