Archer Info

I couldnt find this anywhere else so ill just ask here:

I am Building an archer army, so if you both had max speed then 1-what turn would you move your arrchers to attack and kill enemy archers if you are defending
2- what turn would you move to hit enemy cats as archers?
Any extra info on archers would be helpful :)

i would move archers 1st turn depending on if they had cavs or not ( i wouldnt if they did) and again to kill cats id move on turn one unless there were cavs

Re: Archer Info

archers are a touchy subject. you need very high techs and attributes. it also depends on how big of numbers you have, and the types of troops you use with the archers. archers work better in huge, i repeat, huge, numbers.

not to advertise this guide, but here is a guide for using archers and some strategy on using them.

Re: Archer Info

I believe you move archers the third turn to hit enemy catapults. Although I may be wrong...(probably am it's been a while)
Just facotr in how far the catapults move per turn then your own range.
For Better or for worse.

Re: Archer Info

i just tested it (again and again) it is the third turn. you can move them on the fourth turn, but you have pretty much guaranteed losses at that point.

Re: Archer Info

To answer all your questions.

If you both had max speed and you were defending you will strike first (assuming equal range). So if you have max range, no matter what your archers will hit first. If you don't have max range you kind of need to know his range, you then need to get in range on the same turn he gets in range of you, again you'll strike first.

To take out cats, if he rolls forward move forward on turn 3 (max speed/range) if he decided to wait his cats, move forward turn 1 and 2. If he mixes it up, you need to advance/retreat accordingly.

Extra info - You want conservatively, 6x the archers to his cats to take him out cleanly.
