How can I pick a server to join so I can get in an alliance with my husband

Yup correct, but I think if you put him as your refer, you should be in the same server as him. Worked with my brother

This was the old system, it's not the case anymore, you cannot choose servers any more.

No chance, your best possibility is to both get to lvl 10, and both create a new acct at the same time

You get task 35 "create new acc" and hope u guys land on same server with new acc.

if you guys have each others email, phone, or live with each other, let the other know when you reach lvl 10. then make you r new accounts at the same time. good luck.
