Question about policy...

Hello Haypi Forums. Right off the bat, to avoid confusion and a lock, this is NOT a bashfest, there will be no names used except my own, and I refuse to take responsibility should anyone come in and start stuff up. Should this occur, I would ask that the thread not be locked, and the offending posts be removed.

There. Now, this is a relatively simple question. I'm Foamcups. Everyone knows me. I'm either hated or loved (I like to think I'm more of the latter) but always polarizing. As I've stated in previous threads, the majority of the time im not guilt free, but if you ask the fine
people of S1, I have been railroaded a few times.

Forgive me for rambling, here's the question:

If both of the experts who muted me are now removed from their title, either through direct or indirect actions taken or influenced by myself, does the ban currently in effect become tainted? More than it is, anyway?

This is not a discussion of rules, it is not a discussion of conduct, it is a discussion of perception. I'm not asking anyone to unban me, or fight the ban, or bash support, etc. I simply want opinions on the current status.

Thank you,
Foamcups the Mighty

Re: Question about policy...

My opinion is that experts provide reasonable suspicion that allows support to go in and investigate and determine whether a ban is necessary. So the way I see it, the removal of any expert has no bearing on the validity of a ban.

But again that's my opinion. :)

Thank you for your opinion. I appreciate it.

Followup question:

what are your views on using dated ss to ban someone, and then being removed from expert?

Re: Question about policy...

In my opinion, if an expert had reported you, and you were banned, the ban should remain regardless if they were revoked or not. I believe this because if your reported, support will always look at the case, on both sides.

However, I also believe that everyone deserves a second chance, I don't now the severity of your offence but even so, you deserve a second chance. No-one can say that they smell like roses, or they have never done anything wrong in their lifetime. Take a look at this guy for example. This man was a convicted criminal, he done drugs, he got involved in fights etc. But, now he is known as 'the man with the Golden Voice'.

So what i'm trying to get at is this: you should still be punished, but sooner or later, you should be unbanned.

Re: Question about policy...

Ok. I get your argument. I do. But allow me to say that this is my second ban. The reason I am bringing up dated ss, is because I was banned the second time with the same ss.

My issue isn't with the ban, this stems from a long history of me battling the same two experts. Were fine now, all has been forgiven, I'm even working with one of them to establish a front against the other servers.

What I mean by all this is, for the past...5, 6 months I've been ranting and raving about how these people have acted as experts. Now they've been removed, and the ban over me is evidently still held in high regard. When does the question arise as to the legitimacy of actions taken by said experts?

Wait, how is that possible?
How long were you unbanned for before the second ban hit you?

3 weeks. Maybe more. That's what I'm saying. The ss were used twice.

Re: Question about policy...

I don't think that bans should be removed in cases such as this. Support always checks into each report. Can I ask you how you know if it was the same ss?
