Do Tech Upgrades use Resources too?

I was curious as to whether tech upgrades require the use of resources (say for example lumber) while the technology is being researched. It could just be me, but I don't feel like my minerals increase at their normal rate when an upgrade is in progress... Is there something to this or am I delusional?

the upgrade must finish before the output increases. you do not need rescources to upgrade your techs. You only need money.

You are only dilusional, I once felt like that but i did some math *gasp* and it doesn't change it, and when the upgrade is done its the same unless its a resource upgrade
