Hunting troops come home

Hi, I was told to "search on forums" to find out the conditions under which hunting troops are sent back to barracks. Well, after an hour of searching this place, I've found zilch. I know of only 3 instances: if they are harvested by the player; if they are starved; or if the branch city that they come from is stolen. But apparently there are other ways. Ways that enemies can exploit.
Can anybody help me out? Please? :?

Off hand I can tell you one degan, there is a 10 day limit to hunting and if you don't harvest before that time, the system retrieves them for you.
I cant remember if anything was harvested though.

Re: Hunting troops come home

Yeah, I forgot about the 10-day limit. That is not what I am seeking to learn. Somehow, players are able to forcefully un-hunt another player's troops.
And I believe, Taem, that you and your alliance hold this secret.
Whether it is a Haypi glitch, or an undocumented feature, I don't know.
But it gives players who know it a huge advantage, which I don't like.
I don't expect you to share this information, but perhaps some other player will. Thank you, though, for your input.

As for the other idea mentioned, I don't believe that is true.
I've tested what happens when a player from another alliance occupies the unowned oasis you are hunting. Nothing happened in our test. My troops continued to hunt. My partner from another alliance occupied, hunted, resigned, harvested, hunted again, harvested again, etc. with his own troops, and my troops blissfully stayed hunting.

Perhaps I'll run another test, but for now, I'm still hoping somebody will share this secret knowledge.

Thank you.

Re: Hunting troops come home

Well I wasn't gonna tell ya degan, but I changed my mind.
Somewhere on every servers map is a randomly located temple oasis.
When occupied, it unlocks a new secret unit....the ninja unit. By sending the ninja unit to an enemies city, it forces the hunting troops back to the city, if the ninja infiltrates the city they are stationed out of.
What are the coords? Well they vary from server to server, but there is only one on the entire map, making it very difficult to find.
Unfortunately, degan....I will not share that intel with you, I've said too much already ;)

I will say this much, however, the test you say you staged to see if your troops could hunt an enemies oasis was completely fubar, cuz it is impossible to hunt an oasis with red number on it. Likewise, as ballaz said, if an enemy occupies the oasis your troops are hunting in, they most definitely do return home....and empty handed as well.
Test this again, and post your result here. You'll see that what ballad said was accurate.

Total BC don't listen to this guy
Haypi sucks, support and admins don't listen to you.
Go to suggestions and just select anyone of them and you'll see that not one of them has been listened to.

Therefore DON'T PLAY HAYPI!!!

OK Taem, but in the interest of educating the forum on why they should try to find their temple point, they need to know a few more details.

- Once acquired, the ninja appears as a 5th unit type, in your main city.

- Sometimes it won't be there. This is normal, as they're Ninjas, afterall.

- Crop consumption of the Ninja unit is zero. Ninjas eat iron

- Infiltration rate is 100% for the first use. It drops 10% per use.

- We don't know why, but we expect the townsfolk learn to illuminate their shadows a little more.

- Getting a new ninja unit resets to 100%

- That's even harder to rationalise

- Ninja units need not be tele-attacked; you can fire the Ninja via catapult over 300 map squares and he always lands safely.

- Increasing shooting tech increases range. The formula we haven't quite worked out, but looks a little like:
D = 300+(tech lvl x0.02) - food coefficient (how recently he had iron for breakfast)

- All ninja attacks are hidden. (Do we even need to tell you this?)

- Ninjas can be countered by the presence of the 'Siren unit' in the target city

- The chance of the Siren unit "absorbing" the Ninja is based on her tech level.

- What that enhances, is best left off a PG forum

- A ninja unit can't be used on Sundays, in the time between 00:00:00 and 23:59:59

- You found him in a temple, which explains this curiosity.

On a more serious note Degan, you'll eventually work it out. There's no need to post in anger! :)
