You get them each time you land a successful attack against a fort, except the occupying attack.
Each successful attack reduces the forts loyalty by 40. This means, you have two attacks with which to plunder the forts resources before occupying it.
When the forts loyalty reaches 20, stop attacking and wait a few hours. The resource level and loyalty will both slowly rise, allowing you to hit it again.

i usually steel peoples lvl 10 forts.however, you dont get resource when you take someone elses fort. also, remember, that you need enough soldiers to take the resources.

Occupy is Attack

simple tips for new players:

IF you win three(3) attacks to a fort then u will occupy the fort.

to get the whole resources, you need a good amount of troops to carry all of it in one attack..

for example, lvl 1 fort has 40k resources each, u need 4k inf and 1k cats to carry all in one time... just an example...

if you cant carry all of them in one attack, u can attack it again and again until all resources depleted.

i know in the start of the game, like new servers, u will start with little amount of troops, the only way to get all resources is to attack 3 times, occupy the fort then resign it, then attack it again...

2000inf is all you need to carry max resources from a lvl1 fort

Hmmm - the last time (and first time) I tried to take a level 1, I got defeated. Had 89 infantry, 9 cats. killed 67,25,29,0 of fort, but lost. left 133 alive. rebuilding army.

To take a level 1 fort, you will need at least 250 cats.

Fort 1 has 2000 inf. 50 cavs (i think), 100 archers.

with 89 inf. and 9 cats you can barely defeat them.
