Respect

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of people who think they know what they are talking about bash haypi staff. Before they can even think about talking bad about haypi and the accasonal(idk how to spell it:p) lag that pvp has they should understand how hard it is and how time consuming it is to host almost 30 servers and almost 100,000 players. So before u go talking bad about haypi learn your facts on how hard it is

Re: Respect

I completely agree. You shouldn't say something negative about people you don't know.

Re: Respect

Perhaps, being as this is not the first pvp, people feel like this should have been worked out already? Or, maybe you're just as sure that your opinion is right as the bashers are?

See what I did there?

I would agree with Pinoy on this one. I think there is a lot of frustration felt by the players due to a very glitchy albeit fun game. For one, there is more focus on opening new servers instead of improving game play. Second, the lag alone in pvp is absolutely atrocious to the point where unless you have wifi you have little chance at connecting. The first 1 or 2 pvps is understandable, however this is the 8th or so competition. The Haypi staff deserves some blame for releasing a competition which can not support the player base.

Re: Respect

To some extent, it is not dev. teams fault to take the blame.

Every server has a limit of players it can take, this is to prevent any server lags. Now weak signal of your 3G reception, or weak signal wi-fi can affect the lag issue of your game play but if you have a very strong signal and the game lags, it's not your wi-fi. it's the server overload, where many people are on at the same time which can cause problem.

this is not just haypi kingdom. It affects to any online games. World of Warcraft is an example. You are in a realm, but say everyone is in Dalaran, then you will notice the lag because that everyone is in Dalaran doing stuff, whereas if you were not in Dalaran, you won't experience any lag. (I used to play wow but not anymore).

Other games does this too, some games have one realm with multiple servers within that realm to prevent any lag.

now, Haypi only has 1 pvp server, which also has limit # of people. now if everyone is playing on the pvp server all at once (when everyone is online), you will definitly notice a lag issue because everyone is trying to win the pvp round. If Haypi had 2 pvp servers, then sure each server will experience lesser lag then having 1 pvp server.

I 100% agree there should not be any personal attacks on staff, but you cannot blame people for moaning...I have only just joined this fine community, and am quite liking the game. But being an IT professional myself, it would be my dream to only support 30 servers with 100k+ people connecting.

I think a lot of people respect the fact having so many concurrent connections could cause an issue, but if I am understanding things correctly, this is not the first PVP?

I first started on server21, and for the first 2 days it was pretty unplayable...thankfully the teething issues in most part have gone, except the glitch allowing people to double their troop count at will

Maybe, admin will consider a 2-3 day beta testing with a full reset for live for each server? it would allow new people to find their feet, and allow for the staff to track down the issues....we could then restart for a full bash at the game?

The same could be done for PVP, I'm guessing you'd only need to do it once (assuming the same server is used each time for PVP).

Re: Respect

I give kudos to Haypi for growing so fast and making an entertaining game for all of us. Please give them some time to work on these kinks, the game has only been out less then a year. With so many new players everyday I can only imagine the stress they are having to keep up with it all. One day this will all be history. I've been playing since March '10 and seen many changes in my main server and PVP to better the game for all of us.

Re: Respect

Actually the only changes have been UI and not actual game play, I hope that changes soon.

In regards to other online games, I didn't notice much lag in WoW, however the new Final Fantasy XIV has extensive lag and very frustrating. The difference between Haypi and those games are that Haypi knows there will be significant lag, but fails to mitigate it. This lag isn't simply a slow response either, it is completely prevents players from logging onto the game. I don't notice too much lag on the main servers, however PVP continuously has this issue until enough people quit.

If I bought coins for this round of pvp and could not connect to the game, I probably would flame the Haypi staff as well.

Re: Respect

actually there are 250k+ players playing haypi

78% of players are inactive
10% play less than 1 hour a day
5% are on the forums more than the game
the remaining percent are addicted and this rate is dropping at a heavy rate... i am addicted to haypi and always will be<,< but again haypi is 7 months old and are running low on supporters>.> if they wanna make money they will increase the size of the pvp server and make coin only pvp and no coin pvp with coin only having 1k+ prize (HOW ABOUT AN TV?)
I'm in Server 23, im very active and always busy helping players. Feel free to give me a holla!

Re: Respect

Ballaz is probably right in his percentages. Longtime players are becoming inactive at an alarming rate. I think it is more due to a lack of updates rather than pvp. Every online game only survives through updates. Even the most diverse of games such as WoW can only last a few years before they need a large scale change. HK isn't quite as large as WoW and so updates need to be much more frequent. That's just my analysis though.
