Field Length

Anyone know about short/long war fields? I've run into this several times and would like more information on this topic. For example I attacked someone and when I went to command my army I noticed they had a short field.

Is this random?

Battlefield size is determined using this formula:

Longest range(of any unit on the field, modified) +300

Anyone else have experiences they would like to share with field length? I would like more information and to hear others experiences with short/long fields.

Only ever had short fields when im attcking with just cav!

Otherwise always long fields!

When I attacked a player we both had a combo of troops and it was a short field.

That is random! It's normally dependent on the max range of the cats in the battle!

Like was already said....this was just your experience, not in any way a trend of the game.
More often than not, range is determined by the cats on the field. The exception to this is when a defender has lv9 or 10 turrets, which have a longer range than anything in the game.
I'd also like to point out that you can usually determine the exact size of the field by reading your battle report and seeing exactly how far a unit had to move to reach the end of the board. It's important to understand why cav make the board feel shorter....they move hella fast. In fact, a cab unit with max speed, tech and equipment can reach the other end of the board in 2 moves, which would definitely make the board feel short if you are on the receiving end! Lmao
