Battle Question

So I sent 40 archers and some infantry at an oasis with some cavalry and infantry defending. My archers killed 2 cavalry each round, while I expected a few more to be killed.

What exactly is the algorithm for how attack, defense, and life affect damage and amount of troops killed?

Thanks.

Re: Battle Question

Well, since it took 40 archers to kill two cavalry, there has to be something more to it.

Also, 40 archers took out 8 infantry a turn.

This is with level 1 shooting, so only a 2% boost.

Re: Battle Question

One archer can kill one cav or infantry. However, when I had 714 of them, they only killed about 200 or so infantry. I believe one of your units must muster at least the defense + life of one of the enemy's troops to kill it. However, since there's no such thing as half-killing a troop, the game must "round up" and let one archer's 60 damage be enough to kill a cav with 175+500 defense/health.
Indeed, if you get lucky, it is possible to take a level 1 oasis with only one archer.

Re: Battle Question

Archers are a waist of food use catapults they are much more efficient at killing just send all ur troops to wait and make the cats attack Calvary then infantry then archers then catapults

Re: Battle Question

Ok... Archers become effective in huge numbers... Aka 20k+... With LOTS of cavs to go with.. Plus, if you time it right, archers hit the catupults FIRST ;) bet you didnt expect that lol.

As for the killing 1 cav with 1 archer, picture it this way, you shot it in the foot
weakining it, but because he was the only one it got infected and he died xD terrible analogy but i think you get it

Re: Battle Question

Well I knew they were effective and collossal numbers but I assumed that this player most likely did not have enough crop output to serve all of those archers, therefore at this point in time for the player, archers would simply be a waist of food.
