how to maintain large cats/infantry??

Hi. If i have 2k cats and 2k inf, they eat up too much crops. I have to occupy at least 3 or 4 level 8 or 9 croplands everyday.
I realize most croplands are not occupied?? How do people maintain their large armies? I search around on the map and see many high levels. They never occupied level 9 cropland near them. Those high level players have over 7k cats and 7k inf. I notice that their towns are close to each other??? why? do all the town share the same crop feeding to their armies?

I have 4 towns, but they are spread out in different locations.

As i'm uncertain what level you are, i can't tell you how many crop oasis you should have. One important thing is upgrading crop tech. its well worth the money. Although i'm retired now, feeding a huge army is not to difficult. High tech and level 15 farms in city help a lot. also, spreading out army through multiple cities is helpful (keep like 500 cats in one second city) because you can hit small targets from all around.

If you have a negative crop output, then yes. Thats why you should always check before you go to sleep. Ask yourself, how much crop do I have and whether you're training large amounts of soldiers. I always buy a large amount of crop every time I go to bed.

You gotta calculate it out, easy example is if you have -7000 crops you need to dispatch 700 cats to a sub city, if you then have -700 at the next city move 70 to the next and so on till your no longer negative... You need to have top tech, because like they said above it's worth it! 10% extra added to 3700 goes a long way! The way I look at it, a -10k or less crop count is not bad! With a full warehouse this will take around 2 days to run out!!

2. Study planting at tech centre
3. Enhance crop output with coins
4. Occupy oasis'
5. Create other cities to store portions of your troops
6. Farm regularly to maintain high crop stores (ensure max cranny)
7. Use Marketplace as storage for 449000 crops x 8-10 slots.

This is done on purpose to avoid being "starved".

If you have a number of high level crops near you, then you are asking to be targeted by a higher level player. They attack your crops. With less/no crop oasis, your total crops will soon hit zero (as your crop production will greatly go into the negatives). Which forces all your troops to be transported back to your city. Which makes for easy pickings.

Always try to place your crop oasis as far away as you are willing to spend time to and as in many different directions as possible.
