Task 5

Just out of curiosity, whose idea was it to make task 5 only appear after task 4 has been completed?

I'm on s606, as many may already know, and I see "How do I change my name" appear about 30 times a day. I think that it would be much easier to just have new players choose a name and password right away as opposed to having to get confused with these silly tasks. Or at least make the tasks more user-friendly. C'mon. >.<

Re: Task 5

I think the whole name change task was setup that way as a deterrent to those making alts by the dozens.

Playing through those first stages of the game is a pain in the neck if you have to do it 50 times. When creating a new account, you can't switch to another account before you complete task 5 or you lose access to the new account (no pw having been created prior to task completion).

This may not be the most efficient method to deter alt creation, but at least it was a move by the developers to combat the problem.

Even before the task 5 was introduced, people struggled to understand the task system, especially for raising titles. Haypi has always relied on players to help each other with this, and even if task 5 were removed, I doubt it would stop people from asking dumb questions in wc.

Either way if the spammers want to spam they'll do it.
