Cat vs horse. Expert/advanced player advice

I screen captured all this but im not home. I'll provide captures if needed. So on server 6 ninjaspard and I squared off and the result don't make sense to me. Any input is appreciated.

I am defending.
My army:
cav: 8600
cat: 8350
turrets not really a factor as I only had like 2 decent ones.

Ninjaspard:
Sword: 10464
cat: 13626

Turn 1:
both wait.

Turn 2:
both wait

Turn 3:
both wait

Turn 4:
both wait

turn 5:
both wait

turn 6:
both wait

Turn 7:
both wait

turn 8:
I wait all.
Ninja forward all.
Ninja losses 10464 inf. (all)

Turn 9:
I wait all.
Ninja forward
kills 1st row of turrets.

Turn 10:
me: forward all
cav forward 825
cat forward 137.
[8325] cat kill 6353
lose 5630

Turn 11:
Me:
cav [8600] forward 137
Ninja:
ninja[6933] backward 137
killed 4144 lose 0

Turn 12:
Me:
cav [4456] forward 137.
Ninja: backward 137 killed 4144 lose 0

etc etc. The game does movement first then attacks so I'm my horses can never catch cats unless they are backed up completely? Is it intended to be this way or a bug? Pretty epic battle on our server, and I'm just trying to understand the results. Thanks.

While i appreciate the input, I kinda feel like this is important and worth the time of "experts"/ mods.

Well naturally for a mounted attack to strike, you need to be able to reach.
If you're cant reach them, you can't attack them since you're not ranged.

Cats will always move back in the face of Cav but if you increase your speed to max, it only takes two turns to have them backed up completely.

Re: Cat vs horse. Expert/advanced player advice

It's okay. I'd rather you ask if I was confusing. I thought the information from the last two rounds was enough
but here is the rest of the log...

Turn 13:
me:
cav [312] forward 137

ninja:
cat[6933] back 137
kill cav 312, lose 0

Turn 14:
me:
dead, only turrets left

ninja:
cat[6933] forward 137

final result:
without cured...
Me:
lost, 0, 7224, 0 7011
ninja:
lost 8372, 0, 0, 5355

The point of all this I believe, is the game checks movement first, then attacks. So while our troops are within melée range, I act first and move forward max and stop at his cats, and then his cats move back max speed 137. The game queues movement and THEN attack, and such, my horses can only attack at range 40 and are thus, always out of range if his cats are backing up. Make sense?

Re: Cat vs horse. Expert/advanced player advice

i cannot quite understand what youre saying, sounds like you need to look into your speed and his speed of movement. if you dont have upgraded speed it can take a while to cross a field, especially if the field is 1250 or higher, whoever has the higher speed will attack first. if your horses dont physically meet the cats you will not be able to attack them. the cats dont kill 1 for 1 cavs. but if he has an overwelming number of cats and you dont have many horses he will definetly take out all your calvary.

Might be a bit personal of information but can you share your speed because it sounds like you dont have max speed
