Attack Modifiers
When in a battle, I often do quick calculations in my head to see where all the units will end up, how many will be killed and so on. After a sleepless night, I decided to put all my information into a spreadsheet to see how big an army I'd need for fort farming. So far though, I've yet to get my predicted numbers to match up with war reports. I'm using this mainly for number of inf killed in a battle. I use a cav/arch army. Strangely, the predicted cav kills was too low but the arch kills was too high.
Firstly, I calculated a modifier based on attack attribute, item bonus and attack technology. The formula below is based on this topic by Nathan05. He says that attribute/item points give a 0.5% increase in the skill.
__ (attribute+item bonus)*0.005
____(50+1)*0.005=0.255
__ tech lvl*0.02
____6*0.02=0.12
This (in my case) gives a total of a 0.375 bonus, or 1.375 modifier.
The next thing I did was multiply the modifier by the unit's base attack.
__1.375*60 (archer) =82.5
Individual attack multiplied by the number of units gives the attack of all the units.
__82.5*2000=165,000 attack for the whole army.
Archers have an attack detriment against inf, namely attack*0.77. Here is my reference for this. So, seeing as I'm attacking inf, I factored in this new modifier:
__165,000*0.77=127,050
Infantry have 150 health and 75 defence, so they need 225 attack to kill. Total attack divided by 225 ought to give the number of inf I can kill.
__127,050/225=564 (rounded down).
After hours of research and putting this together, the end result is wrong. My 2000 archers actually killed only 440 inf at a lvl 1 fort. Do forts have technology or attribute points? Am I doing something else wrong? I have tried many ways of using these numbers, and the current version is the closest. I also used Taem's guide but that didn't work.
Note: I have looked a lot of sources but most of this work is my own and I have credited all major external inputs.
