Forum Structure

I Opend this thread to find Out Ur thoughts and experiences on the Forum structure.

I have a Lot of different Topics i would like to say a Word on, but sometimes its Hard to Identify the right thread or to Split up the Flow of writing on Various threads.

There are like what 140 Pages of different threads , Maybe Admins and Moderators should view the threats and relate them to a structuture of Topics

And this is in General discussion only!

What i Mean is Not that there isn't a structure yet but with the growth of the Forum it should be defined with Head and subtopics Down to Single threads

Also Unless a Topic has a closed timeframe i think it should'nt be locked.

Nominations and Polls certainly have a timeframe and may well be locked. But then it would be nice to Post the Results as Last Message of such a thread.

To go on Many subjects and Topics would fit in different threads and its the Authors First Choice Where to put them.

For Example this would also fit in the category suggestions as I suggest to get the Forum more structured, but then i choose to put it here as I Want Most Ppl to See it and Add their thoughts and experieces and then Maybe create a more detailed Suggestion thread with the First Results of this thread.

I will have a Word on other Topics/threads as well and im Not sure Where to put them yet. So if u Want to read more Look Out for more to come.

This was my Second Post so far After a Long Time of passive reading in different threads.

My First One can be found in thread on haypi foreign Language versions.

More Topics i Want to Write on are:

Review and constructive critic on Various haypi matters, Titels could be

- my Haypi experience on Server xy
- my Haypi experinence overall
- lessons learned, my First Pvp
- Mythbusters: Haypi Myths collected and tested. Lol
- my suggestions how to improve Gameplay and functions
- Expert Nominations, Designation....
- Bout Cheaters ( here i would Post my opinions on them) and how to Identify them ( i would like to learn more about this Topic, Bc it really spoils the Game sometimes)
- Opinions on Haypi rules and how they are enforced
or in some Cases non enforced in any Way
e.g. Pp offering treasures for Feeding, using mapscanners, Filter avoidance ....
Some of it fits into the Cheating Part but there is more ... e.g. I can understand that Not every Chat is Monitored by haypi staff immediatly that's what experts and User Reports are Necessary for, but i cant understand that they are Not able to Monitor Player and Alliance names be they avoiding Filter or Not , i have Seen inappropriate racist Ones in Top 50 Alliances
- and some more to follow soon

So now its Time for Ur suggestions, thoughts and experiences

A) on the structure(s) of the Forum
B) suggestions Where i should Post some of my intended Topics or what Topics u would be especially interested to read First or Add your thoughts to it from findable/Understandable Headlines to Single contents of These threads

Last but Not least i'd like to say Haypi should use the Newscenter more especially to get Ppl aware of this Forum and of Important News Besides their Adds such as someone Else already Said in the thread on unauthorized/ SPAM Mails using deceptive haypi e-Mail Adress . And if its just a Message Referring to Check a specific announcement or thread on this Forum.

Happy Hunting :D

Greets ~Lord.Ice~ DragonRage Alliance S94 and on other Servers ...

P.S. Whoever Finds mistakes other than related to Content of subject/Topic such as my english, grammar, Use of capitals ... U may keep them :D ( in German it Says: " Those who find mistakes, may keep them" lol )

Re: Forum Structure

I like your ideas.

I think in the end, it falls on the shoulders of forum mods to play librarian with topics. Even with vigilance on the part of forum posters, it seems many posts are misplaced due to noob ignorance, people arriving (and posting) at a random post via google searches, and what you yourself have subscribed to: relying on general discussion to promote viewings and hopefully responses.

Without criticizing the work of others, There are thousands of repeat posts and replies, tasteless posts or posts not in accordance with the forum rules, and countless posts simply made off topic or in the wrong section. What you are really asking is that someone step up and do something about it.

Truth is, I've seen many posts have been moved recently, and over time, there have been an uncountable number of posts either moved, locked or deleted. As it may seem there is a lack of presence from our mods, might it be there handiwork is disguised by the hundreds of listed page numbers?

In the near past, there was an obvious neglect of duties by certain mods and lo and behold, it appears there was a shakeup of sorts as two long time mods are no more. While it's unfortunate to have lost those contributors, it's reassuring that whoever is in charge values activity from their mods.

Understand that it must be a daunting task to peruse so much information and be charged with organizing and moderating it. Especially in a system such as this, where there is no real requirements for membership. While the forums are relatively slow nowadays, with nary a few posts per week, at many times in the past these pages bristled with activity, receiving hundreds of posts in a day and even much larger viewership. It seems mostly the backwash of antiquated posts that clog our boards. If only everything might be consolidated and put back neatly on the shelf.

Well I really didn't mean to bore you with that, but here's the best thing I think a concerned forum user can do to help. Follow in the footsteps of the dude who made this post: the post I'm talkin' about

Do this, AND maintain it. Be your own threads mod and give it a sticky by keeping it at the top. Just don't be foolish and do it with a thread that doesn't belong on the first page.

Re: Forum Structure

Yes, Yes, and Yes. Several people who play haypi would do it for the coins, free to haypi :P But this is a mess. Outdated posts that have already been fixed are being posted on, and people are saying, "oh this is ok now!" Well Duh! Wish some support would talk to Thomas and ask him to make a Librarian title or something like it for the forums.
