Max attributes?

Just a question on this to help me decide how to build my general. The base max attribute (as in what you spend the attribute points in as you level) is 100 right? Equipment will raise this past it's max and I can benefit from it? Like 100 speed then equip a lv 15 horse, I would end up getting 100 + 45 for 145 speed total, and I would actually benefit from having 145.

You are on the right track. The most attribute points you may have is 100, but it can go higher than 100+45 with enhancements on your equipment.

But that's only half of it. What does 100+45 actually mean? If you look in your barracks and select a unit, you'll find it has an attack rating that I always refer to as a 'base' attribute. This is the number that gets modified by your attribute rating of 100+45. To calculate the modification, add .5% of your BASE attack for EACH point in the attribute. Ergo, an inf with a base attack of 75 will add to its attack +.37 for each point you put in its attack attribute and equipment. So if it has an attack of 100+45, you would add 54 to its base of 75 and your modified attack for an inf becomes 129. The formula would look like this:
75*.005= 0.37

0.37*145= 54

54+75= 129

Each unit has different base ratings for each attribute.
Additionally, defense modifies by .5% and speed modifies by 1%. Fortune will not modify any combat attributes. Also note that corresponding tech modifies the base attribute as well.
