Basic PVP Guide

I finally put this together for new/inexperienced PVP players. It's meant as a basic guide, not advanced. Hope it helps:

QueenofNo's Basic PVP Guide

1. Basics.

A.   PVP is 15 days long
B.  BP (beginner's protection) ends 72 hours after a player first logs on, or level 4, whichever comes first. You can calculate a rough estimate of when bp ends by noting the remaining time for pvp on your login screen.
3.  The 300 coins you receive can't be taken back to your main account, nor can the items you buy be taken back.  Any leftover Coins you buy during pvp will be returned to you when pvp rewards are distributed (usually about 2 weeks after pvp ends).
4. If you are linked via game center, achievements accomplished in PVP MAY (not a guarantee) be reflected on your main account.
5.  The chat rules are the same in pvp. The ingame rules are the same.
6.  PVP is 24/7 war. So there is no   "fair play" expectation: ie farming of actives and cropping are to be expected.
7. The use of alt accounts to benefit a main account is prohibited.
8.  PP.  you get only "normal" pp for winning battles where you have killed troops. Building troops and upgrading your city gives you no more than 1/3 the normal pp.

For a complete explanation of PVP including the prizes, see: help/support/pvp

2.  Strategy.

You need to think defensively and offensively to do well in pvp.  Setting your account up with the proper foundation is a must.

A.  VIP: you will need this throughout pvp. Pay for one week, skip one day, then the second week.  Keep yourself upgrading 3 slots at a time as constantly as possible.

B.  Main Building and Warehouse.  Speed these up from the time you arrive until at least lvl 11

C. Cranny get cranny to lvl 20 before you come out of bp.

D. Wall. Unless you are going to build level 10 turrets, turrets are almost useless in pvp.  Concentrate on traps. Lvl 5 should be your minimum goal.

E.  Crop.  Increase crop tech and enhance so you don't have to rely on oases to feed your troops.  I start enhance when needed, not the first day  Upgrade crop level consistent with the needs of your troops.

F.  Forts. Forts are for farming in pvp.

G: Money.  Make as much money as you can in the first 3 days selling resources. Coin the resources to sell (do the math: 1 coin buys you 2k money from Haypi or 1 coin gives you 20k resources to sell).

H.  Equipment and Treasures. Sell resources and buy equipment and treasures in the market. Those who are patient and nimble of finger can snipe many at minimum price.  Speed is important. So try to at least get a lvl 15 horse.

I.  Techs.  Get scouting and shooting up as high as you can. Then marching tech.

I.  War. Be ready to war when you come out of Bp. Assume you are being scouted 24/7 (you are). Troops left in your city for more than 15 seconds are likely to be attacked. Try to landlock your main city so you can't be warped.

J: scout. Scout everyone and every oasis. Poor scouting will equal a poor result in pvp. Scout, scout, scout!

K: hunt. Hunt your troops at all times unless you are that second sending them out to attack.

L. troops. Inf are needed to fill traps. Cats are needed to farm forts, defend against attackers, and for overall strength (unless you are coining up high stats).

Hope this all helps!

Good luck!!
