Subcity and Forts
As debated in chat, if you lose a subcity, do you lose a fort captured from said subcity?

My GUESS is you don't. And if you were to callback troops from that fort they would go to your main. But this is just a guess

Well what happens to any troops dispatched from that sub city/left in that fort from any assortment of cities, do they just disappear or something?

yes any troops that are not safely in another city , when you lose that city are lost i suspect
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?
