you want a good army built before you come out of protection. that way you can start making resources from farming people. as for your defenses, you will be attacked alot if you do not have your defenses up. especially because you are such a low level. your buildings can wait until you actually start making alot of resources. your barracks, army, cranny, and warehouse need to be built up first. your cranny needs to be really close to lvl 20 by the time you come out of protection. your warehouse should be at least level 14, i would think. your barracks should be about level 12 or 15. and you should have lvl 6 traps before you come out of protection. these are big goals, but if you work hard for them now, your life will get easier.

The shazaam! Winning strategy:

Upgrade main, warehouse and barracks to lv20 all the while build cats cats and more cats.
Beyond that your main priorities should be upgrading your shoot, marching and scout techs to lv10.
I wish it was as cut and dry as saying do this, then this, then this....but it's not. These are the things that need to be done first and foremost. Id go into more detail there, but as you've read many guides I shouldn't need to.

Many will include cranny and resources on this list, but I say no to that. Even if someone is raiding your resources, with a good army of 1 or 2k cats you can easily farm all the resources you need from others and forts. Besides, with your superior tech and large cat army, you'll be a force to be reckoned with if someone does try.

You say you have more people (population) than you need. You are incorrect. You can never have enough. As your server is still young, market prices are still likely relatively high. You should be using any and all population not being used to build to sell your resources in the market. Take advantage of the high prices now to upgrade your tech. They will drop everyday and soon enough all res will sell for less than .03 per unit.

Most importantly, you need to join a good alliance. Find one with a very active alliance chat and people who can and are willing to help each other. Your alliance mates should be taking lv9 oases and giving them to you to supplement your lack of resource production in your city. IMO, it Is wasteful at this point in your warfaring career to spend resources upgrading your factories, with the exception of crops. You'll need all the crop production you can get to support your large numbers of cats.
