Re: Avoiding by acronyms?

I really am not sure of the answer to this problem other than what adina said.use common sense.if u can google the acronym and it has a cuss word in it I guess it is a mute worthy acronym.I'd actually like someone make a definite yes on this subject so I know how to respond to people when they say them.

Re: Avoiding by acronyms?

The answer is if its being used offensively to bash or terrorize a person yes it is bad. Also if the acronym can easily be discerned into a cuss then yes it is a bad.

Guys its not rocket science lol. Bottomline there is no shade of black or white. Just keep the chat clean, there is no need for vulgar meanings, sayings, or acronyms to get your point across

Re: Avoiding by acronyms?

There is a certain amount of discretion involved. Like Adina said also common sense. It's pretty obvious if someone is trying to be vulgar / avoid.

Re: Avoiding by acronyms?

It is such a breath of fresh air to see these things handled in Forums over S8 WC.

People seem much more sensible.

But yes I agree, "wtf" is now filtered, at least from what I've seen. Could we simply add these other words to the filter to help experts in their duty to stop the offensive acronyms?

Or would that be just a little too much?

Is this a joke? You, or experts in general really feel the need to take it to this level? I mean, seriously? What if I say, what the freak, or laughing my fricken ass off? It's still a substitute for the intended word. Who are you protecting by muting lmfao? The children? Grown men and women? Get real. The f-bomb is potent because of it's explosive shock value. These acronyms and substitute words have nowhere near the same affect. I'm comfortable saying you're taking this mute thing way too far and the fact people don't speak out against it more is shameful. Like GoldenRico said, "keep the chat clean", in my opinion all these words are perfectly worthy of a PG rating.

I'm arguing that you're not staying within that frame of rules and as a result making the game less enjoyable for a broad range of personalities.

Hey, I see your point, but what does the whole world know Omfg as? Oh my frickin god? No. This is why we are muting people. This is offensive language. And you know why most people don't speak up? It's because they know we are right. There should never be a time, where experts mute somebody and not take a screenshot. We have the evidence. Everybody that plays Haypi, should know that offensive language is forbidden, and yet a lot of people still do it. What should we do? Keep giving them warnings? No, we are forced to mute them. So I think you should stop talking like that.
