How do I get more treasure without having to buy them?

Treasures: Buy from market, hunt them
Skill points: Complete the 'Upgrade general title ##' task, then goto "general" on the UI, then just tap the skill you want to upgrade

hunt your troops for 8 to 12 hours to get treasure.
as for skill points, add them by hiting the plus sign on the ones you want to add the attribute to, and then hit save.
then, to add skills, click on the skill you want to upgrade and hit upgrade.
