Help Required Urgently

OK, so I am on PVP, a level 9 and I have come across a problem...twice. I found someone 4 levels below me with their army out, so I send an army with fractionally less cats than them, so they think they have a chance and won't withdraw. To be precise it was 13/50/258/275 (them) against 959/4/2/242 (me)

Naturally I came into the battle, paused all my troops and sent my cats forward, knowing I had a higher shooting (the field length was determined based on my shooting tech) and higher speed (them having 20 speed and me having 73+30) and they had all their troops paused so I kept moving my cats forward until Turn 4 where is says first in green text Catapult (242) forward 103 killed Catapult 128, lose 113 and then in red text Catapults (147) wait killed Catapult 113, lose 9.

So basically my 242 cats went forward and killed 128 whilst losing 103, but on their go they killed 113 of my cats and lost only 9? What happened? How did I lose 103 cats when I attacked and they only lost 9!? All turrets were killed, they had their archers paused so they couldn't have hit me and all of their attribute points were placed in fortune.

A similar thing happened when I was hitting another level 6, I attacked first and something like 200 whilst losing 150, and they killed 130 whilst losing about 10. I doubt it is my defence as I'm sure I had the same defence as them, but even so it is such an extreme loss in comparison to them.

What happened? Advice please.

Did they get lucky double/triple power attacks with their cats?
Fortune could turn the tide of the most one-sided battle in a heartbeat.

The problem wasn't with the attack, they attacked just as much as I expected. What I am confused about is how 129 cats (242 minus the 113 they killed) managed to only kill 9 cats in the counter-attack.

ur cats kill 128/242 per round= around 0,52

so 16 cats kill around 8-9 cats

That is odd, I see what you are saying Uranos. But that is odd as this basically justifies the fact that speed is useless.

If I attacked second I would have won that battle, as I could get 2 hits on him before he got his second hit.

If this is the case, then this renders speed pretty useless and whoever has the lowest speed in terms of cats would win this kind of battle, so if I had a lower speed then I would have won.

no Sand, because you went all speed while his attack was high, so yeah you got him with a first strike but because your attack is very weak at that level when you go all speed, you couldn't finish him off.

However once you get higher up in the level and your attack stats, equipment and tech all increase, that's when you will see the speed advantage really kick in as you will be able to wipe out a huge amount of enemy cats on the first strike.

I think you're just use to your high stats on your main server and miscalculated, I have had a similar experience, I was so used to my high stats on s1 that when I started on s15 I attacked someone with 2k cats against his 2.8k cats, while on s1 I would have been fine but because of my low attack level I was wiped out despite getting a first strike, he was almost completely wiped out too but he won the battle nevertheless.

So keep this in mind for your battles.
