Hunting cav vs. inf

Hoping one of the 'master hunters' out there might be able to answer this. With the knowledge that cavalry is twice as fast as infantry, and only has a 20-point carrying advantage, one would assume that doing a hunt of 9-12 hours with 20k infantry would be similar in terms of 'ground covered' as 10k cavalry. Is this true?

Or, is it better to hunt with something like 5k cavalry (same crop consumption), and will that end up giving better hunting results?

My speed is maxed and I'm working on boosting my fortune now, but I'd love to actually start finding some more valuable items in my hunts.

At first i have to say high fortune increases percentage to find a treasure. 2nd inf are better because they gotv1 consumption - cav 4 . Also it depends how "virgin" the oasis is. 10 k cav almost equal to 20 k inf tho.

As far as crop consumption goes, its not worth it to have calvs around just for hunting, they eat 4x as much and only bring home 25%more (all things being equal). I still love my calvs though
