Occupying land

When I try to occupy a land, I'll send my troops and after I win, it says,"oasis beyond city limits." what does this mean? Why can I occupy some place far away, but the land directly next to me I can't?

It says this because you are only allowed a certain amount of oasis per level.
Check out http://haypi.com/general.htm for a list of what u can have at each level. If you want to occupy the oasis you will have to resign another one. Which can be done by selecting cities on the bottom center of the screen, then the oasis tab at the top right of the screen. You can callback troops or resign your oasis' here.

what it means by occupying the land???

A basic formula for the amount of oasis you can own:

Divide your title level by 2 and round up

Oasis give more of the production in your city per hr of the oasis you take, for example if i take a lvl 1 iron oasis my production of iron in my city will
be 100 higher than it was... Lvl 2 = 200...lvl 3 = 350 etc (grows exponentially) and a lvl 9 oasis = 3700

I think i found one, than it went down to a lvl 9 for some strange reason

Lvl 10 oasis rnt invincible, they lose a lvl a day if they are occupied (which is why people resign and take it back every day, sidesteps the problem of 24 hrs occupying it) and my guess is that lvl 10 oasis when unoccupied drop to lvl 9 and then another random level the bext day...
Btw you just missed out on something you wont see for a long time again... Ive never seen a lvl 10 oasis on my server
