Confirmed. Traps do damage to speed only. When the units speed drops to zero, they're in the trap. This is why convince works. It's like taking hostages for convincing or killling. So trap damage divided by unit's movement per turn will get you your number in losses. ^^

Re: Traps not doing the damage they should.

Well i've seen units take out two rows of turrets in one blow. So if you have a large ranged army, you could use the traps as a good delay strategy against really fast troops. Especially since cavalry are known to eat ranged armies. Even though the faster your opponents troops, the less damage a trap will do to the numbers going through the traps. (not to mention suicide units to add turns for your ranged to eat incoming fast units) (mainly for a ranged army vs an incoming cav army)

so incoming units take damage depending on their speeds, but do traps inflict their damage with attack? I just want to make sure so that I don't waste any coins when I switch my stats

Re: Traps not doing the damage they should.

Support told me a lvl 10 trap e.g. Is killing 18000 inf per h. Also they got a little but range. So divide 18000 with 3600 and multiply the time they need to cross the trap

Re: Traps not doing the damage they should.

no problem :)
well lets say lvl 10 traps:
140 range 18k/h
infantry 0 speed tech/attribute: 150/30sec.

1.140 range
140/150*30=28 28 sec to cross a lvl 10 trap
28*18000/3600=140

with NO speed 140 inf destroyed

2. now with max speed

140/(150*2.65)*30= around 10.6

10.6*18000/3600=53
with max speed 53 inf destroyed

hmm.

How sure are you that lv10 trap range is 140? I ask bc the formula I used earlier, which is a lot simplier, lol, would match your formulas answer if lv10 trap range is 120. i'll show you ...

NO speed....Mine [18000/150=120] yours using 120 as trap range [120/150*30=28sec. 28*18000/3600=120]

Not the only uncanny part.

using 165% speed....Mine [18000/397.5=45.28] (rounds) Yours using 120 as trap range [120/397.5*30=9.0566 9.0566*18000/3600=45.28]
I believe our formulas can be interchanged. :P Depending on what trap range really is anyways. :?:
