Shooting Skill vs Speed

My dilemma:

If a player had level 10 shooting and 0 points in speed, then he would beat every other player with a shooting skill under level 10 even if they had maxed the speed attribute, right? Assuming that they have equal amounts of cats.

My question: why is the speed attribute hyped so much considering the above?

Thanks in advance

Re: Shooting Skill vs Speed

Im not sure wat your asking, but if you are being attacked, have max speed(100+45) and max shooting skill, then you will ALWAYS attack first. (if same speed, the defendent attacks first, (( though unlikely to be same speed unless both maxed it lol)).

Re: Shooting Skill vs Speed

My question was, that a player with higher shooting skill would always attack first even if their opponent had max speed, is that correct?

not always. a playeer with higher speed could move so fast forward, that he gets into his own range area... then the one with lower speed is attacking 1st

Re: Shooting Skill vs Speed

Yeah what uranos said, and even then, the difference between your shooting skills needs to be enough to give you a full turn ahead of time. You might come into the opponent's range the same turn the opponent comes into your range if you have 1 or 2 difference in shooting.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when it comes to catapults I believe every 4 levels gives you a full turn range on your opponent.

But surely the player with the higher range from the shooting skill would be able to hit first before the higher speed player gets close enough to shoot?

Re: Shooting Skill vs Speed

Not if they reach each-other on the same turn, it's turn based, so if the other player's speed gets him in range within turn 2, then the player with the higher speed hits first.

Re: Shooting Skill vs Speed

U want to upgrade both so u will always attack first. The shooting tech alows u to shoot farther but your speed skill makes u able to attack first
