The numbers behind maintaining large armies

TACTICS-FEEDING TROOPS

One of the top questions I get is how do you feed so many troops

So here's how it works..

You load balance feeding across your cities. Park them touching or very close together for fast dispatching

EA: city with 15crops and no oasis has 5,120 crop production
Every level of plant tech increases that by 10% so lvl 10 is 10,240 crop
Now enhance is another 50% on top of that now your 15,360

That's per city with no oasis and no extra feeding at all

Your warehouse carries 449300 crops

If you have -44,000 crops you now have 10hrs of food

That's roughly 6,000 cats per city if you choose to feed every 10 hours

So say at level 16 you can have 6 cities now I can support 36,000 cats with a 10hr window

Wait we still have oasis
Ea lvl 9 oasis adds 3,700 + 100% crop tech and 50% enhanced = 11100

So now you can add another 1110 cats per oasis without adding any more feeding time

At lvl 16 I can have 8 oasis so that's another 8880 cats

So now with these numbers and the max feeding Im willing to do I can hold an all cat army of  44880 cats

______________________________________________________________
Now level 20 cities feed twice as much. So let's redo the math

Lvl 20 crop = 2695*4=10,780
                                 +100% planting
                                 ----------
                                   21,560

21,560+50% enhanced = 32,340 crops

That's roughly 7800 cats per city if you choose to feed every 10 hours

so with 6 cities thats 7800*6 = 46800

At lvl 16 I can have 8 oasis so that's another 8880 cats

So now with these numbers and the max feeding Im willing to do I can hold an all cat army of 55680 cats

--------------------------------------------------------------
basically level 15 crops =448800 crop
level 20 crops = 556800 crop

this means that depending on your army type you can divvy up the crop among the units you wish to have.

this guide is funny lol, u go to sleep having 0 crop production, then some1 takes 1 of ur oasis and u will starve pretty soon... i prefer to just dont use oasis and get lvl 10 scouting, this way noone knows my crop production and if i do or dont have oasis

If you are so afraid of people taking your oasis you will never be strong.. Btw if someone is already above lv16 they hunt oasis using cavs and it can reach 30min-1hour distance without a problem... u wont be able to find it with that big radius.

usually 5-6 minutes away by cav id enough to hide them sufficently

Re: The numbers behind maintaining large armies

Thanks Nathan....I just got attacked with an army of 16,57654,472408,0 yesterday and I was absolutely stunned an army of that magnitude existed. 56k cav I can understand, however 472,000 archers along with the cavs?! I thought the server merge cut down on the number of oases available so I was not expecting that hit.

A bit off topic, but perhaps another topic on how to tackle such large armies would be helpful.

Re: The numbers behind maintaining large armies

well say you have lvl 20 crop and can maintain the 50k cats in your cities. thats equal to 500000 crop. so split this down.

50k cavs= 200000 crop consumption
500k arch=1000000 crop consumption

now thats a hell of alot of feeding and looks like feeding every 1-2 hours its possible for the insomniacs amongst us :)

Re: The numbers behind maintaining large armies

a level 20, might barely be able to keep up on that large of an army... it seems to me like more than likely a glitched army.
